– Painting the Man In Shadow was really fun, but he was lonely. So, I thought I could paint a woman too. This picture fits well, I guess.
I liked the hat and the elegant and soft shapes and lines, that are created by her pose and her dress. The fact that you can only see half of her face makes the picture mysterious and also is a reason why I chose it.
The biggest struggles were the proportions of course and painting the skin and her face, because creating smooth surfaces and transitions with acrylics is really hard.
All in all, I really like this painting and next to the Man painting it is one of my favorites at the moment. The mysterious, old and filmish vibes just are my cup of tea, which honestly surprises me a little bit.
