– My reference for this painting was a digital artwork, but the original tiger looks older, wiser and more graceful. I loved the atmosphere, created by the dark background, the glowing effect of the tiger, the blue colors and the fact that he holds a lantern. Lanterns have something magical in general, I think.
In the end, I honestly was surprised that you can create such a good glowing effect with acrylics and I like the look.
If I gave this painting a name, I would call it „Guardian“, because a creature like this has to have a purpose/function. Because of his (facial) expression my first thoughts were guarding and leading.
