– This is my first oil painting that I made on my own. I thought I should start with something simple to get a feeling for the colors and the work with them. That is why I chose a slightly abstract oil painting of flowers as a reference. Painting this piece I realized how satisfying and calming oil painting is, but also that it is a challenge for my impatience. Although I´m not a huge fan of flower paintings I like this one, because I like the style of it and I like how the colors harmonize. The look of oil paints is just really pretty and this experience really got me into oil painting.
